The Volleyball

Volleyball is life.

This sport is one of my favorite, I love volleyball I can play volleyball all the time and never get tired of it. Many people say I’m a volleyball freak because I play so much and I fun so much.Volleyball is my way of life. It is my way to calm down after a hard day at school or if i’m stress.

Since I was a little girl I played volleyball. I not only like playing volleyball but I also enjoy watching volleyball on T. V. , when I go to the beach, my family and friends get together to play and we have a lot of fun. For me, volleyball is a part of my life and it means a lot to me.

Volleyball is a team game which has six players that play on either side of the net. A set of rules decide the score that each team is able to make against the other team. The game begins with a player from one team throwing the ball using hand or arm over the net so that the opposite team can receive it on their court.

The basic rule is to prevent the received ball from hitting the ground so that it can be thrown back to the other team with up to 3 touches from the team. A foul happens if one person from the team touches the ball more than twice (it called double-hit) while it’s on their side of the net. Also, a team scores a point by throwing the call across the net to the other team’s side such that it hits the ground directly or the player fails to send it back over the net.

Thus there are basically two ways to score a point

  1.  One is by throwing the ball on the ground of the opponent team passing over the net
  2. If the opponent team is unable to render the ball back into the court of serving team.

Volleyball is played in different variations in different parts. There are some rules for the serve in the game of volleyball.

  1.  The ball has to be served underhand or overhand.
  2.  The player who serves the ball must stand behind the end line on his/her side of the court while making the serve.
  3.  The served ball must cross the net and reach the opponent side.
  4.  The ball has to be clearly visible to the opponent team.

In volleyball we can’t avoid injury, but it’s a part of the game.It is necessary for the volleyball player to have a great upper-body strength, stability of the shoulder socket, and functional trunk strength to allow the athlete to swing faster and more powerfully .

This are just a few things about volleyball and why I like playing volleyball. Hope you like it :).

The Basketball

Ball is on fire.

Basketball is a team sport which has immense popularity and played with the help of a ball that is shot into a basket positioned horizontally. The objective to shoot the ball is scores which are gained by following certain rules of the game. The game is played by 2 teams constituting 5 players each who play on a marked rectangular floor with baskets on both ends.

The game of basketball was invented by James Naismith in 1891. James Naismith was a physical education teacher at McGill University and later at Springfield College (then Y.M.CA.) at Springfield, Massachusetts.Under the guidance of physical education specialist, Luther Halsey Gulick, he invented basketball as an indoor sport.

Basketball is a game of techniques and positioning. Passing, shooting, dribbling have to be done in appropriate manner and players have to be positioned right to offend and defend to achieve or prevent a goal. Height of the team members gives an advantage in shooting and taller members are positioned appropriately at the “center”, “power forward” and “small forward” positions. Shorter members with right ball handling skills proficient in speed play stay in “point guard” or “shooting guard” positions.

Everyone who plays basketball knows it’s more than just a sport, more than just a hobby and more than just a passion that people have. Even I my self I love to play basket ball even though I’m a girl. All types of people enjoy the game because of how it makes them feel and the joy associated with playing. Bleeding, sweating and getting hurt are just the little things that someone learns while playing the game. The philosophy and emotions associated with the game makes it my favorite past time. The qualities and lessons learned while on the court have helped me understand many individuals and their struggles and gains.

Basketball is a great way to get your mind off things and is also a great way to express yourself. It is a sport that can work your whole body. It’s a great pastime for any one and is a great way to bond with family members and friends. I see in my eyes that basketball is very addicting and makes you want to play more and more of it. Basketball is known as a good pastime in many people’s eyes but can also be seen as a passion for many others.

Basketball isn’t just a game for me, it makes me realize who I really am as a person in this world. Basketball helps me understand others and their choices. I believe basketball can help others get along better, get a better understanding of each other and get through life understanding that together we can make things happen.

Basketball is far more than just a game. “BALL IS LIFE.”
